Play fair and be kind

• Treat other players the way you want to be treated, whether you win or lose.
• Play the game the way it is meant to be played.
• Keep personal details to yourself, your own and other people's.

Not allowed

• Harassment and bullying: insults, threats, or following a player from game to game to upset them.
• Hate: attacking people for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or age.
• Sexual content of any kind, in text or in drawings.
• Threats of violence, and content that glorifies violence or self-harm.
• Other people's personal information, such as their name, address, phone number, photos or accounts, without their permission.
• Spam, scams, advertising, and links that try to trick people.
• Cheating: bots, scripts or tools that play for you, exploiting bugs in a game, or playing with several accounts in the same game.
• Pretending to be another player, someone from the Boardly team, or anyone else.
• Anything illegal, and content you do not have the right to share.
• Attacks on Boardly: trying to break in, overload the site, or get around a suspension.

How to report

See something that breaks the rules? Use Report on the message, on the drawing or on the player card in the game, or on the player's profile. Guests can report too. We keep a copy of what you report, so it is still there when we look at it, even after the chat is gone.

You can also email us. Say what it is, where it is, such as the lobby code or a link to the profile, and why it breaks the rules or the law: support@boardly.online

What happens next

We look at every report. What happens depends on how serious the breach is and whether it has happened before:

• We remove the content, such as a message, a drawing, a username, a profile picture or a bio.
• The host of a lobby can remove a player before the game starts, and that player cannot join the lobby again.
• We suspend the account for a set time or for good. A suspended account cannot sign in.
• We close the account after serious or repeated breaches, and it is then deleted.

We may also report threats, and content that sexualises children, to the police.

If you think we got it wrong

If your account is suspended, appeal with the form on boardly.online/suspended. For anything else, such as content we removed or a report we did not act on, email us and ask us to look again. We answer every appeal in writing: support@boardly.online
